about our practice

Rainbow Kids Pediatric Urgent Care is committed to provide compassionate, quality medical care in a welcoming environment by board-certified physicians specially trained in pediatric medicine. We believe that children require differentiated treatment from adults and deserve care specific to their needs.

Urgent Care vs Emergency room

There is a tremendous need for high quality pediatric care in our community, specifically after-hours and weekends. Hospital emergency rooms are often overrun, have extensive wait times, and serve a patient demographic of all ages. An ER visit can be arduous and expensive; adding unnecessary stress when you have an ill or injured child. Our Urgent Care will provide a more affordable alternative in a setting that will be conducive to the needs of children and their families. We offer convenient, accessible care for non-life threatening illnesses and injuries for children 17 and under. We take pride in being a trustworthy medical resource for your family; extending services beyond the hours of your pediatrician’s office, and offering care when previously the ER was the only other option.

We respect your time and finances and strive to provide optimized decision making to avoid unnecessary work ups and procedures in your child. We will be the voice offering sound advice and appropriate treatment and will only triage your child to the ER when absolutely necessary.

About Us

Combined, our group of diverse clinicians have accumulated over 50 years dedicated to the treatment of children. Our all-physician group received formal training in Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care and Pediatric Cardiology.

While our backgrounds vary individually, we have all cared for children in the office, pediatric emergency department, and hospital critical care units. This means your child will benefit from highly qualified doctors that have extensive experience in treating patients of various levels of acuity – from minor illnesses to extremely critical circumstances.

How “Rainbow Kids” came to be

The name “Rainbow Kids” was inspired by our son’s favorite book at the time, Noah’s Ark. When asked about his favorite color, he always replied “rainbow.” Over time, we also came to see the profound significance of a rainbow in our lives. It symbolizes God's promise to the world and serves as a reminder of His love and how we can use our talents to serve others in a way that fulfills God's will, which is love. This symbolism is echoed in the book of Ezekiel, where on the 4th month, the prophet describes a vision of God’s glory as “a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day.” Remarkably, after a series of delays, Rainbow Kids Urgent Care finally opened its doors on the 4th  month of the year, on a rainy day, which was followed by a beautiful rainbow.

Rainbow Kids Urgent Care is made up of physicians and staff from backgrounds as diverse as a rainbow, yet we are united by a common mission: to use our talents to care for EVERY child, regardless of their background, and to express God's love through our work.
